We take you to see Waterfalls, the mystic area around Mývatn and the horseshoe shaped Ásbyrgi canyon
We begin the tour by driving to the waterfall Goðafoss. Goðafoss (waterfall of the gods) is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland and nice to watch during both winter and summer months. Next stop will be Lake Mývatn. It’s magical to see during the winter months when the snow is all over. So peaceful and quiet. Dettifoss comes after that and it is reputed to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe. Ásbyrgi is our next destination. It‘s one of our pearl in the North Iceland. Legend relates that the canyon is the capital of the “hidden people” (huldufólk), who live in cracks within the surrounding cliffs. We will end this day tour by stopping at Tjörnes to see if we can spot any puffins before heading through Húsavík, the capital of whale watching in Iceland, before we drive back to Akureyri.
